Notable facial features include a crooked jaw and nerve damage. He has a speech impediment that becomes more pronounced when hitting words with AW sounds (law, jaw, etc) it makes his voice gravelly and his jaw jut out at an angle.
Was recently shot in the upper thigh, has been patched by Patho-Gen but still limps and uses the support of a cane.

What is your character most afraid of?
Dying alone.
As far as Harry remembers his life has been spent grieving everyone who left. His wealthy ex who left him for greener pastures on the other side of the world while leaving him to die in poverty. His partner Kim, who he’s told is dying because of him. (Kim is fine for the record. He’s okay.) And now it’s his unit leaving him to more literally die of a gunshot wound after declaring him unfit to work.
Harry knows he can’t survive on his own, and he knows that the world doesn’t seem to want him. Even though he struggles with the desire to kill himself and the aftermath of the last attempts he’s made, he wants a chance to live. He’s someone who deeply craves human connection. Now he has another chance, maybe if he makes himself useful, tries even harder, this time he won’t be left behind.
What does your character think about physical appearances? Are they the sort to meticulously primp themselves, or could they not care less?
He's still figuringthis everything out but he likes how clothes can make him feel confident and he likes to express himself to the world. Before losing his memory he spent a good chunk of his money on a flashy custom disco outfit, including a pair of snakeskin heels. It’s clear Harry longs for the socially acceptable gender nonconformity of the disco era.
Polio inflicted nerve damage left him with a speech impediment and inability to easily make facial expressions. To compensate he started imitating the dashing smile of his disco idol but time wore it away into a grimace he couldn’t easily remove. He's very self conscious about his face, unable to shake the horror of seeing it for the first time after he woke up.
All in all he thinks he must be one of the most repulsive people to ever exist. A little TLC would go a long way to helping him see it’s really not that bad. No one is going to look great after a three day suicidal bender! :(
Who in your character's canon influenced the most growth in your character? What do they think about this character?
Ideally someone would've taken Harry to the hospital right after he woke up with amnesia but this is not an ideal world. In this world there’s a body behind the hostel and someone has to take care of it. This is the world that Kim Kitsuragi lives in.
Kim handled Harry’s amnesia and distress with dignity, saying he’d seen worse and showing faith in his capacity to pull himself together. In response Harry found himself wanting to do a good job. He said it himself, he may not have family or friends but he has Kim. And he didn’t want to let him down.
To Harry, Kim is just the coolest person in the world. He's disciplined where Harry struggles to control himself, supportive of him where others aren’t, and shares with him a genuine desire to help the city, and an offbeat sense of humor.
And now he thinks that Kim is dying because he failed him. He let down the one person who believed in him.
What would your character say is their best trait? What is truly their best trait?
Harry would probably say the best thing about him is that he Used to be someone who was better. He used to have respect and a dazzling record. He used to be a Lieutenant Double Yefreitor. (Twice promoted to the highest rank in the RCM that still engages with fieldwork, twice turning down the position of captain.)
Really, the best thing about him as a person is that he wants to help people. No matter how far any version of Harry gets or how hateful he becomes he'll always throw himself between armed mercenaries and civilians. He wants to do good and it’s an unfortunate reality that his desire to do good can turn him into a fascist.
Another character describes Harry as a recorder, taking in all the chaos of the world around him until he burns out. It’s a correct assessment, he is absolutely drowning in information that tells him just how fucked everything is. Thanks to his psychic abilities he knows the date of the apocalypse is coming sooner than later. And he still wants to fix what he can. To ‘solve the world.’
Inventory: villiers 9mm pepperbox pistol, kvalsund KR+2 multitool, a brief look at infra-materialism (book), fuck the world jacket (I suspect Patho Gen will want to hold onto the book, it’s an introduction to part of Elysium's magic system)

PSYCHIC - Can read minds, speak to the dead, see the future, glimpse what his coworkers on the other side of the city are up to, and communicate with the living soul of his city. These powers frequently manifest as vague riddles and uncanny in-the-moment insights, with the exception of Espirit De Corps’ ability to show him full scenes of his coworkers doing awful things.
HUMAN CAN OPENER - Nosy and persistent. Harry has a deserved reputation for 'opening people up' without violence. With empathy, manipulation, and observation. It’s not even something he means to do maliciously. He’s curious, naturally wears down your defenses over time and never ever gives up.

VISUAL CALCULUS - A kind of complex visual forensics skill. Can reconstruct crime scenes on the fly, calculate the trajectory of bullets and other objects etc all in his head. Example. (Spoilers at the end of the video.)
BUILDING INSPECTOR TRAINING - Harry has training in building safety inspection. If something isn’t up to fantasy-OSHA code he will spot that shit.

In Disco Elysium, Harry is a portrait of a man on fire left on a cliffhanger that may never be resolved. I’d like him to grow and have a chance to heal and develop beyond his current edge-of-the-abyss state. I suspect this will be a slow process and not without relapses but ultimately he wants to get better.
Of course what constitutes ‘better’ from his perspective varies. He’s prone to extremism, easily corrupted, and I’m bringing him in from his absolute lowest point. And with a cephalopod soul he’s playing on hard mode.
All this to say, I’m not opposed to negative development.
What I'd especially like- if anyone is interested of course- to explore any flavor of sexual/romantic intimacy. It opens up a lot more of him to poke at, he has a complicated relationship with his sexuality and a lot of pain to work through. And it’s something I don’t get to do with him often. I’ve been eyeing imprinting and pair bonding especially.
